Gunnedah Ooranga Toy Library to benefit from federal government Building Better Regions Fund grant

The $19,935 in funding will allow the organisation to deliver Messy Play Days to towns across regional NSW, including Gunnedah's Ooranga Toy Library.

The money comes from the federal government's Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF), and in the latest round, $207 million was announced to help communities hardest hit by the prolonged drought.

More than $18 million has been directed to the Parkes electorate in Round 4 of BBRF grants.

Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said it's great to see Gunnedah included on the list.

"Today's announcement is about unlocking the outstanding economic potential we have right here in the Parkes electorate," Mr Coulton said.

"BBRF is all about strengthening the local economy, and delivering lasting benefits to our local communities which we know are suffering the flow-on impacts of drought."

He said the projects will make an enormous difference to regional communities.

Messy Play Days are a popular event on the calendar of various toy libraries across the country, and allow kids to have a sensory experience and make a mess with things like slime, water and paint.
