Idemitsu named Greg Bartlett Construction of Tamworth as the successful tenderer for the long-awaited facility on Friday, and said work is expected to start in May.
The 397 square-metre centre, on the corner of Brent and Oakham streets, will cater for children aged 0-5 and provide after-school care for students aged 6-12.

"Boggabri is a growing and thriving community, with many young families. The consistent feedback we have received from locals is that there is a real need for services to support working families," Idemitsu's chief executive officer Steve Kovac said.
"All of Australia has had a rough start to 2020. I couldn't think of a better way to give back to the community and help stimulate the local community than the construction of this facility."
The build is expected to take six months and will be managed by Hill Lockhart Architects, which designed the facility.
If the centre passes all regulatory approvals, it will be operated by Nurruby Children's Services, a community-based organisation, which operates children's services in Narrabri and Wee Waa.
