Sometimes it's the lovely things that are dispensed with first of all in times of crisis. Not so in Ballarat.
Rather than see her precious flowers go to waste, a Ballarat businesswoman teamed up with another in a very special way.
Soho Rose Farm owner Kristy Tippett and Provincial Hotel owner Gorgi Coghlan gifted free bouquets to vulnerable people and health care workers in their city today.
"I think this is just a great example of the huge heart the Ballarat community has and how willing everyone is put their own needs aside to help the people who need it most," Ms Coghlan said.
From Europe to the US and over to the UK, rainbows are really lighting up windows all over the world. You can add Mandurah, Western Australia, to that list.
And that massive massive patchwork colour bomb in Meadow Springs has just ramped up the standard, too. Is your rainbow up for everyone to see?
Jill Adams was probably the most welcome sight across the northern NSW town of Moree this week.
The Domino's Moree owner has been delivering free pizzas to frontline healthcare workers - from aged care homes to chemists and Moree Hospital.
"The theatre nurses rang up with an order the other day, but I told them I was actually donating to the hospital today," Ms Adams said.
"They wanted to pay but when I told them it's free they said 'oh that's so lovely, that's so nice'. We've got that from everyone. They weren't expecting it."
Ms Adams is a big believer in paying it forward and encourages everyone to do the same: "It just shows there's still humanity out there; there's still kind people."
