Overnight rain on Wednesday "tipped" Moree Race Club over in terms of too much water on the track, with race officials deciding on Wednesday morning to transfer the meeting, said Lyn Tongue, Gunnedah Jockey Club secretary manager.
GJC has secured a seven-race TAB meeting.

Tongue said: "Because there's been so much wet weather, and clubs have lost meetings, they're trying to keep the races going for the trainers, because they've got their horses fit and ready to run.
"And if they cancel them [meetings], well, then, there's a [negative] flow-on effect ... I think they're trying just to keep it all following."
Tongue said the late notice of the transfer would not put undue pressure on the GJC. The track was kept in good condition, she said.
