Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson announced Gunnedah Golf Club's successful grant of $272,766 Stronger Country Communities Fund on Wednesday.
The black chain safety mesh fence will stand 2.1m high and enclose the perimeter of the course.

Club president Peter Spackman said the grant came at the ideal time because they had spent so much money buying water to save the greens.
"The drought has had a heavy impact on the club's financial resources ... we've had to re-seed our fairways and update watering systems and this has been a burden on our coffers, so this announcement is just fantastic news," he said.
"It is exciting to know this fence will also help our population of koalas; now they'll always have a sanctuary.
"This grant is going to make a huge difference and I want to thank Kevin Anderson going into bat for us and for his support."
Mr Anderson said it was a win for more than 200 members who use the course, and the additional 1500 or more social members.
"It is a really popular green space for walkers and local residents," he said.
