Sue Smith started at the crossing on Wednesday afternoon, and will be ensuring the school's students cross the road before and after school safely.
School P&C president Lisa Warren is very happy the school finally has a crossing supervisor, saying "it's great for the kids safety".
"I think the community should be really happy that it's finally happening," Ms Warren said.
"I've been in the P&C for six years and [the lobbying] was happening before I came so for a long time."

The school received confirmation it would receive a supervisor in February 2019, and Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson has helped the school community through the process.
"It's a much needed safety addition to what is a very busy crossing," Mr Anderson said.
"It allows traffic who use Bloomfield Street to see that there is a school crossing because quite often people get distracted while doing whatever and they forget they're in a school zone."
Gunnedah residents may remember Ms Smith from the 1980s when she was the first crossing supervisor on Marquis Street for Gunnedah High School.
"Because I have the experience they thought with being on a highway I could do the job," Ms Smith said.
"But it's a lot busier because of all the trucks."
When asked if the crossing in front of St Xavier's Primary School and St Mary's College may receive a supervisor, Mr Anderson said it was "certainly an option we can be looking at".
"I think every school crossing should have a school crossing supervisor so I'm very happy to take up that option as well," he said.
Bloomfield Street is a 40 km/h zone between 8am and 9.30am, and 2.30pm and 4pm on school days.
Previously, a school crossing needed to be used by 300 cars per hour in the morning and afternoon, as well as at least 50 students to be eligible for a supervisor.
However, NSW Government changes mean schools now only need to meet one of the criteria.
