Nadia Pearce made the pledge at the Liverpool Plains Shire Council's Australia Day awards event in Quirindi.
Ms Pearce hails from The Netherlands and come out to Australia in 2013 to go travelling.
She got a job in Spring Ridge and met her now-husband at the local pub.
The pair married in 2017 on a beach in Thailand and in October 2018, they welcomed their son into the world. The family now live in Pine Ridge.
Ms Pearce said she decided to become a citizen because "I have an Australian son, and so I can vote".
