She put the call out on Facebook asking for donations to take South and the response was enormous.

Just few days after publishing the post, there has been enough items donated to fill the truck the Clifts have organised to transport the donated items.

The Quirindi Lions Rugby Union were one club that got behind the Clifts and said the response had been incredible.

"They have had an overwhelming response. At this rate the truck is filled," Lions publicity officer Jess Slade said.

"They are really happy with what they've gotten so far and they'll be heading down in two weeks. Batemans Bay Rugby Club has offered to be a drop off point and will organise the distribution of the items."

Ms Slade added: "It's just a great initiative and we don't like to see what's happening."

The Quirindi Rugby Club acted as a dropoff point and club members helped pack up the donations on Thursday evening.

In a Facebook post, the club thanked the Quirindi community for their support and the Clift family for their generosity and enthusiasm.
