Chelsea was one of six contestants from St Mary's and Gunnedah High School who competed in the Lions Club's annual quest recently.
She vied against Deagon Marchant, Bridie Kemp, Tneesha Milne, Katlyn Murrell and Joshua Egan before an audience of more than 42 club members, fellow students, teachers, parents and judges.
The participants delivered five-minute prepared speeches and answered two impromptu questions: "Give an example of a recent protest and describe its significance" and "What are your thoughts on pill testing at musical events?".
Chelsea's speech was titled "Deforestation - impact on Australia and globally".
