Business Connect set up in the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club for its Busting the Drought event to give tips on how to keep profits up during these tough times.
There were a number of different business owners in attendance, ranging from retail, to bookkeeping, to hypnotherapy.
Business adviser Derek Tink gave each attendee suggestions on how best to go about their dealings during the drought, saying "wherever there's an issue, there's opportunities".

He said he was working with more than 35 start-up businesses in Gunnedah, helping them to get on their feet and start making money.
The workshop itself was split into two parts: the first covered drought busting and new ideas to diversify each business.
The second focus was on digital tools, which introduced attendees to the world of e-commerce and the benefits of selling their products online.
One owner asked how best to go about starting up an Instagram account for her business, because she was already very busy.
As a collaborative event, other attendees and Mr Tink shared ideas on how she might go about this such as having someone who knows the products run it for her.
Mr Tink said that, while it was a lot to cover in one day, "if everyone can take away something small that they didn't know already, that's the aim".
An important point the business adviser ensured attendees took away was to take advantage of Business Connect's free service.
This gives small business owners the chance to talk to an adviser one-on-one for four hours, free of charge, about how to build their enterprise.
Mr Tink said start-up business owners may also be eligible for a Jobs for NSW grant, and encouraged everyone to check their availability.
A similar event was also held in Tamworth last week, which saw speakers share success stories with each other about the benefits of an online presence.
