Father's Day breakfast, a touch football gala day, and visits to Gunnedah Shire Library were on the cards for Gunnedah's school kids this week.
There were plenty of smiles on the student's faces at all of the events.
Gunnedah Public School
Students at Gunnedah Public School had a lovely morning celebration Father's Day by tucking into some delicious breakfast.
Many student's dads attended, which the kids loved.
The school's KH and K1/R students also enjoyed visiting Gunnedah Shire Library this week. In history and literacy, the kindy kids have been looking at different families and how they can be formed.
So, at the library, they read some picture books about different families and then created a family tree for craft.
St Xavier's Primary School
This week, 41 students from St Xavier's Primary School travelled to Tamworth for the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival. The school had eight athletes qualify for the Polding Athletics Trials to be held later in the year.
The junior girls relay team, consisting of Imogen Torrens, Audrey Hannaford, Josie Naismith and Charlee Adamson, came first overall and Cleal Bender was named the Armidale Diocesan Junior Champion Boy.
Carinya Christian School
Carinya Christian School students from years 3-6 attended a touch football gala day at Donnelly Playing Fields this week.
Students really enjoyed playing touch football with their friends, and all tried their very best. They loved working on their team and their skills.
