THE Gunnedah Bulldogs' 2019 AFL North West premiership victory could have easily slipped away had it not been for a timely goal from one star player.

Brad Jenkinson stood up for the Bulldogs when the moment arrived, kicking a goal from distance, after a free kick, to help seal the grand final for Gunnedah.
Sadly, there will be no more memorable efforts from Jenkinson in Bulldogs colours.
"My work is actually transferring my family and I down to Newcastle, so the grand final was my last game for Gunnedah," Jenkinson told the Namoi Valley Independent.
"I couldn't think of a better way to finish up with this great club.
"The club is filled with complete legends and I have had an absolute blast playing here for the last few years."

First arriving in Gunnedah in 2014, Jenkinson didn't make his Bulldogs debut until the following year, before going on to be part of the Bulldogs' 2017 and 2019 premiership teams.
"When I first got to Gunnedah I was flying back to Rockhampton every weekend and playing footy up there," Jenkinson said.
"It was worth it, though, because I won a grand final with the Glenmore Bulls that season.
"However, I would have to say winning the 2017 grand final is certainly one of my favourite memories.
"It was amazing because it was the club's 40th anniversary and one thing I love about the club is that regardless of where we are on the ladder, our main priority has been having fun."
As well as starring on the football field, Jenkinson has also been a mainstay of the region's cricket ranks, first in the Tamworth District Cricket Association before making the shift to Gunnedah.
"It's always nice to see the smaller towns like us not only go up against the bigger towns, but to defeat them as well.
"I made the transition over from Tamworth after two seasons and really enjoyed playing in both competitions."
Jenkinson said while it was pleasing to win the War Veterans Cup "it was regretful not to taste club success" with either Kookaburras or Albion.
"We got close a few times but unfortunately we just didn't quite get there," he said.
"What has been good has been watching some of the really talented junior players we have in town make their way up the ranks.
"Hopefully, those guys can stick around and continue to make Gunnedah cricket strong in the future."
