Gunnedah police's Sergeant Mark Benson said, apart from the guns seized from a man holding a stall at the field days, the police "didn't have any real issues".

"We've had a couple of drink driving offences associated with AgQuip but ... that's about it," Sergeant Benson said.

"In a nut shell it was a non-event ... They're a decent crowd and [were] well-behaved."

Sergeant Benson said the Gunnedah police had their "normal rostered commitment for the town" but also had four extra officers on site at AgQuip.

"We had extra blokes from Tamworth and Narrabri [and they] were assisting our local guys in town," he said.

"I did see a higher police presence by way of highway patrol and they were meeting their agenda for free flow traffic and Towards Zero."
