If Boggabri beat the Magpies at the Creek on Saturday and the Blues beat Dungowan in Narrabri on Sunday, the Roos will leapfrog the Cowboys off the bottom of the table and avoid a second-straight wooden spoon.
The Roos winning would also result in Werris Creek slipping from second to third spot on the ladder - meaning they would miss the chance to play North Tamworth in the first week of the finals, for the chance to advance straight to the grand final. Given these scenarios, Boggabri coach Shane Rampling said there was much to play for in the final-round clash.

He said that included providing his side with a winning feeling to take into next season - when he believed they would be an even more competitive outfit, in their third year in the top grade. "We just wanna try and finish strong and hopefully get the win," he said.
"We've been disappointing ourselves with just silly mistakes and letting teams off the hook when we get into good field positions. So we'll be looking to cut out those mistakes [against the Magpies] and really build some pressure. "
