The Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters prepared for a huge confrontation with competition leading North Tamworth Bears by disposing of a understrength Boggabri Kangaroos 44-0 at Kootingal Oval on Saturday.

The Roosters ran in eight tries against the Roos, who were missing nine players and had to forfeit second grade.
To their credit, the Roos battled valiantly after trailing 26-nil at half-time and let in just three second-half tries - despite finishing the game with 11 men.

"We only had 16 to start with," said Roos coach Shane Rampling.
The Roos then copped a heap of injuries.
Kootingal coach Geoff Sharpe said Boggabri were tough and uncompromising despite their lack of numbers.
"They are a big side and hit hard," Sharpe said. "But we played some good football [especially in first half] and we played some silly stuff too."
At Narrabri on Sunday, the Bears beat the Blues 60-0.
