The national week-long event fell during the school holidays so recent activities have included smoking ceremonies, stories, presentation of awards, and exploring Aboriginal caves.

Year 10 student Paulin will spend 12 months at QHS and said while his spoken English is currently limited, he is looking forward to learning more about the school, community and culture.
He has elected to undertake an exchange in Australia to improve his use and comprehension of the English language as a pre-requisite for his chosen career of becoming a Fighter Pilot.
Paulin will be staying with three different host families during his exchange.
On the staff side of things, Ms Strong will teach science and senior chemistry and feels that imparting knowledge and skills to young people and communities is the best way to provide them with opportunities for their futures.
