This afternoon, crews were called to an electrical fire at Woolworths caused by a fault in the air-conditioning.
Fire and Rescue said a potentially large fire was averted by a "quick-thinking" staff member who extinguished the blaze before they arrived. No action was taken by the brigade.

Earlier, around lunchtime, the brigade deployed two vehicles to a fire at a block of units in Henry Street.
When the crews arrived, there was smoke billowing from the hallway between the units and two firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished a fire on the ground floor in the stairwell.
All of the units adjoining the hallway were checked for smoke and cleared of the hazard.
The crew used a positive pressure fan to blow the remaining smoke from the corridor before returning to the station.
