A large number of projects within the shire are on the list of potential recipients, including Gunnedah Urban Landcare Group's (GULG) Pensioners Hill beautification project.
GULG is hoping to receive $48,000 in funding to add new features to the reserve, including two new covered picnic settings, a waste-art eagle sculpture, a timber seat with a carved eagle wings backrest for people sit and view the existing sculptures, and coloured signage identifying the native trees and plants.

GULG secretary George Truman said while the voting system was "very competitive", he believed more attractions and facilities on Pensioners Hill would be well supported by voters.
"Visitations to Pensioners Hill have increased significantly in recent years with many events, including weddings, taking place on a regular basis so the added amenities and attractions have been identified of good value and will complement the present facilities and sculptures already installed by the Rotary Club of Gunnedah West and GULG," Mr Truman said.
"We appeal to the community of Gunnedah to assist our plans for the beautification of Pensioners Hill by taking the time and effort to support our efforts by voting to ensure we have the funding to complete this next stage in the process of beautification and upgrade of this terrific reserve overlooking Gunnedah."
Other projects in the running include the upgrade of Gunnedah and District Soccer's clubhouse, the refurbishment of fences at Mornington Tennis Courts for Gunnedah Tennis Club, and the installation of koala sculptures in the Gunnedah CBD by the Rotary Club of Gunnedah.
Votes can be cast at the My Community Project website or at Gunnedah's Service NSW centre. Voting closes on Thursday, August 15.
