GS Kidd Memorial School celebrated Indigenous culture on Wednesday ahead of NAIDOC Week.
It was a morning of music, song, dance and awards, with special guests including Curlewis Public School, Gunnedah South Public School and the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG).
Tyson Small and Conor Roberts raised the Australian and Aboriginal flags and Dale Walls delivered the Welcome to Country.
The Fish class counted from one to 20 in Gamilaroi language with help from teacher Paul Williams and the Turtle and Goanna classes performed the Torres Strait Island song Taba Naba with actions.
Awards were also handed out by the school P&C's Rebecca Dridan for participation in cultural activities and the AECG's Meleah Walters for good school attendance.
Visitors were then invited to join the school in pretending to be various native animals to the beat of clapping sticks.
