A home on Hunter Street was also broken into between 4pm Saturday, 29 June and 11am Sunday, 30 June while the occupants were out.
Gunnedah police's acting inspector Mark Benson said the offenders "ransacked" the inside of the home.
"The unknown offenders forced open a door [of the home] and ransacked the internals of the premises and stolen a number of guitars, a television, and some jewellery," acting inspector Benson said.
Enquiries are still continuing into this incident.
A number of items were also stolen from St Xavier's Primary School canteen on Saturday night at about 9.30pm.
Acting inspector Benson said the items stolen indicates it was children who broke in.
"The canteen's roller shutter window was forced open and items stolen were chips, ice cream and soft drinks," he said.
Forensics have been called for all of these incidents and investigations are continuing.
