Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce president Stacey Cooke said the event was great for keeping locals in town.
"Having the information available and easily accessible will provide the encouragement to seek that information locally rather than assuming it can only be provided out of town," Mrs Cooke said.
"The Gunnedah TAFE is working really hard to provide relevant subjects and courses applicable to the skills required in our town therefore giving proposed students the ability to [find out] what their local TAFE has to offer and only look beyond if it's not available locally first."
The courses with information sessions include early childhood education and care, automotive, nursing, construction and plumbing, hair and beauty, and more.
"It's a fantastic initiative by the TAFE to provide information sessions on the courses they offer as it gives proposed students an opportunity to obtain further information and ask questions to determine whether particular courses are relevant to their needs," Mrs Cooke said.
"[The chamber] would encourage proposed students to come along on that date and to support our local TAFE."
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register for sessions they want to attend through the TAFE InfoFest website. Food will also be provided on the day.
