It was the Roos' first victory since stepping up into the revamped top-grade competition last season.
They went close to winning in the previous round, before Kooty edged them 24-22, but they wouldn't be denied this time - celebrating exuberantly as their small but vocal band of travelling supporters cheered from the grandstand.
Big Ben Haire, the Roos' lion-hearted prop, dreamed as a child of emulating his father and grandfather by playing senior footy for the club, and was there when the side moved from the now-defunct second division into first grade.
Haire crossed for Boggy's second try on Sunday, in the 31st minute, barging over from close range.
Haire said the win "means a lot" to the team. "We haven't won for a year and a half ... so this is a big win for us."
Dungowan opened the scoring early in the match when centre Brook Morgan made a break and linked with fullback Ethan Sherlock, who crossed.
