Running and riding have been the top of the agenda in Boggabri recently.
Sacred Heart School principal Dallas Hyatt and school leaders Andrew Valks, Claire Watt, Kaiden Ayton and Luke Grace-Hendrie travelled to Moree last week for the Armidale diocese's Catholic Schools Week mass at St Philomena's School.
They joined principals and school leaders from St Mary's College, St Xavier's Primary School, St Joseph's Walgett, St Joseph's Warialda, St Joseph's Wee Waa, St Joseph's Mungindi and St Francis Xavier's Narrabri for the celebration of the eucharist.
The mass was lead by Bishop Michael Kennedy, the deans and the parish priests from around the Armidale diocese. Claire read a passage during the mass.
Ten students from Sacred Hearttravelled to Barraba to compete in the diocese cross country recently.
Six junior students competed in the 2km race and four senior students competed in the 3km race. They competed against about 100 other students from the area in each race.
Boggabri pony club hosted its annual two-day stock horse challenge and gymkhana over the Mother's Day weekend.
All activities revolved around the stock horse, from time trials, workouts and patterns. The senior campdraft was unable to take place because of the drought, so the club added more stock horses workouts to the program.
The gymkhana draw numerous riders from all over the region.
