Gunnedah Fire and Rescue's Monica Bentham said it was an opportunity for locals to learn about what crews do, because it was "a lot more than just fighting fires".
"We demonstrate how we use door entry techniques, so how to gain entry into a house when there's a structural fire," Miss Bentham said.
"We also have a car set up out the back that we can lay the hydraulic tools out to show people [what we do in] road crash incidents and [how we] extract people."
There will also be plenty of activities for the little ones to enjoy, such as sitting in the fire trucks and testing out the breathing apparatus.
Miss Bentham said now was a great time to ask questions coming into winter, as there were usually "more fires in the house, particularly with heaters running".
