Just back from the whipcracking championships at the Royal Easter Show where he took out first place in the World Bullock Championship, Wicks and Tamworth's Sharnelle Sippel will be chasing Queensland Senior Track Championship titles.
After making the podium at the Australian titles last year Wicks will be looking to upset the Queensland riders and bring home a title or two.
Sippel has been racing flat track for 23 years from the days of peewees at Oakburn Park, and is making a return to racing after having 12 months off the bike due to family commitments.
The now 27-year old expects multiple champion Briony Hendrickson to be the one to beat but isn't discounting any of her rivals.
She picked her freshly-tuned bike up last week after experience a few issues in finishing ninth in the last Australian titles she competed in.
