Gunnedah Commonwealth Bank employees will dress up as clowns on Friday to raise funds for The Clown Doctors.

The not-for-profit organisation put smiles on the faces of sick kids, with doctors dressing as clowns and visiting hospitals.
The Gunnedah bank will open its doors to the community at 9.30am, and hope to raise $350.

Branch manager Fiona Kemp said there would be a bake sale and for a donation, locals can write a special message for The Clown Doctors and the sick children on a balloon.
"Knowing that we can provide support to Clown Doctors in their effort to bring much-needed laughter and fun to sick children means a lot to our staff," she said.
"It's also heart-warming to have our local community get behind the effort as well."
There’s nothing pleasant about being a sick kid in hospital, but The Clown Doctors help lighten the serious side of hospital for kids and their families with over 230,000 visits a year.

Ms Kemp said the branch raised $200 last year.
The Clown Doctors is the core program of The Humour Foundation, and bank employees regularly donate a portion of their salaries to the cause.
Each year, The Clown Doctors visit about 230,000 sick kids and their families at 24 major hospitals around the country. to bring laughter and joy while also offering respite for families.
Donations to The Clown Doctors can be made at any Commonwealth Bank branch throughout April or at the CommBank website.
