A MAN has been ordered to front court accused of assaulting a staff member at a Gunnedah motel at the weekend.

The 42-year-old man and a friend entered the motel grounds late at night on Saturday, police said.
Officers said the duty manager approached the pair before the 42-year-old allegedly assaulted the employee.

Gunnedah police were alerted, and following investigations, found the man on Sunday afternoon.
He was arrested and taken to Gunnedah police station where he was later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and granted conditional bail.
The man has been ordered to front court in May.
Meanwhile, police are also appealing for information regarding numerous thefts of wrought iron outdoor settings in Gunnedah recently.
Police said a number of settings have been the target of thieves in the past few weeks.
The white round table and matching chairs have been the most common stolen, and most have been taken from front verandahs.
Police are urging residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity as soon as possible.
