Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) general manager Ron Van Katwyk and TAFE NSW regional general manager Kate Baxter signed a Statement of Intent on Friday for the TAFE NSW Quirindi Connected Learning Centre.
"As part of the partnership, TAFE NSW has been identified as the preferred training provider to deliver eight courses to more than 90 council employees," Mr Van Katwyk said.
He said the council would utilise the Quirindi learning centre for workshops and training, with three new cadets to make use of the facilities.
"LPSC is committed to providing opportunities for young people to gain hands-on qualifications locally, that can open a path for them to gain local employment, and TAFE NSW is helping make this a reality," he said.
"Council has been working towards these goals for some time and we're pleased to have forged this partnership with our local TAFE as another milestone in rolling the program out."
