The Long Ride 2019 event is scheduled to start in May, and aims to raise awareness of prostate cancer and men's health.
The council donated $500 in 2017 for the worthwhile cause requested from Gunnedah rider Des O'Callaghan.

Mr O'Callaghan said this donation went towards funding a specialist prostate cancer nurse to work at Tamworth Hospital, and said he hoped this would be where the 2019 funding would go too.
"I hope it would go towards the training of [another] nurse," Mr O'Callaghan said.
"As of 2017, there was only 43 specialist prostate cancer nurses Australia wide."
This year's motorcycle trip will go to Darwin, and will leave from Gunnedah on May 11. Locals attending the ride include John Holyoake from Somerton, and Tim Brett and Des O'Callaghan from Gunnedah.
The three men will join up with riders from Sydney and Newcastle on May 11 for the rides first overnight stop in Narrabri. These riders will include The Long Ride founders Chris Dunne OAM and his wife Gale Dunne OAM.
All donations for the ride go to the PCFA - this organisation assists with research into prostate cancer, and provides information, support and counselling to those affected. It also raises community awareness to encourage early detection and more effective treatment of the disease.
