The co-ordinator of this region's event, John Holyoake, said it "pelted down the whole route".
"It rained as soon as we left Tamworth, [and only] stopped 10 minutes after we got to Somerton," Mr Holyoake said.
He said that out of all the riders, only three had wet weather gear and "the rest were drenched".
Mr Holyoake said one man came all the way down from Darwin to attend the Tamworth ride. The oldest rider was 90 years-old, and the oldest motorcycle was a Suzuki from 1981.
Around Australia more than 3500 riders took part in the one-day event in 40 different locations.
