Mrs McConville said FiveSeven was the first service-based company to win the start up award in the event's 14-year history.
"It usually goes to IT companies," Mrs McConville said.
"We won it because of the way we approach consulting with clients; we're quite collaborative and we build capability internally.
"We do things a bit differently - our team can set their own time around needs of clients, which is a little out of the norm for a HR company."
FiveSeven services clients in Australia and overseas, and collaborates on everything from difficult conversations to organisational restructures.
The company has six employees who all work virtually either at their homes, or wherever suits clients. One of the staff is based in Gunnedah.
Mrs McConville grew up in Gunnedah, and attended St Xavier's Primary School and St Mary's College before moving to Queensland to attend university.

FiveSeven was awarded the Super Start Up Award for it's innovative service-based products, which ensure their clients benefit from continuous improvements through feedback and design/process agility.
The company was also awarded the certificate because of how it challenges the industry, through providing clients with problem solving capability, rather than simply providing clients with the solution.
