An inquest into the deaths of five young people following suspected drug use at NSW music festivals will start in July after the coroner receives toxicology reports.

The coroner will examine the deaths of Diana Nguyen, Joseph Nguyen Binh Pham, Callum Brosnan, Joshua Gerard Tam and Alexandra Ross-King - all aged 23 or younger- at NSW festivals between mid-September and mid-January.
Two previous festival deaths are also likely to be included in the fortnight-long inquest set to begin on July 8.
The coroner is waiting to receive toxicology reports which have been delayed due to a backlog in processing, Lidcombe Coroners Court was told on Thursday.
