There is still time for our lucky reader to borrow a "red-wrapped read" book from our special shelf, and if they select one of the tagged books, they could be the lucky winner of a box of chocolates to take home with their book.

This promotion runs until the end of February, so you still have a few days left to pick a red covered title.
The library runs plenty of programs during the week.
On Tuesdays, from 3pm to 5pm, there is Bookends Literacy Assist, where children wanting some reading help read to seniors who assist and encourage. Bookings are in 20-minute blocks and are essential – please ring the library on 6740 2190 to make a booking for your child. The program also runs on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
There’s also Toddler Time for little ones on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10.30am, with story reading and a simple handicraft. No bookings are required – just come along with your child and enjoy.
Children can also join our 1000 Books Before School, and receive certificates for their milestone achievements of enjoying 50, 100, 250, 500, 750 and then the prized 1000 Books Before School.
On Wednesday, February 27, the library does a Shop-Bound Book Bag delivery service to shops in the CBD whose workers are unable to visit the library. This service is free, and anyone wishing to join just needs to fill out an application form and let the library staff know their reading preferences. Book bags are exchanged every two weeks.
The Family History Group also meets on the second and last Wednesday of each month, so if you’re interested in the history of the district, or of your family, join in and find some handy hints about tracking down facts and ancestors.
On Wednesday afternoon, the library also hosts Junior Brain Games, an afternoon school activity for children aged eight to 12 years. There’s a 30-minute literacy component, with the rest of the time taken up by fun brain games such as join the dots, find the objects, word and memory games, spot the difference, mazes, and so on.
Bookings are essential for this program as there is a limit of 10 children, so please ring the library on 6740 2190 to see if there is room for your child.
See you soon at the library.
