The win was set up with the ball, Shayne Riordan, Paul Cruickshank, Rick Sampson and Pat Williams leading the charge as they kept the home side to 118.
Riordan had Tamworth on the back foot early before Cruickshank and Sampson ripped through the middle order. Williams then came on and mopped up the innings to finish with 2-0 from his two.
Gunnedah in reply took just 18 overs to chase down the runs.O
Openers Sampson and Paddy Paul laid the groundwork with an almost 50 run opening stand. Both retired, Paul on 32 and Sampson 26. Christo Harmse followed with 17, Riordan (12no) and Cruickshank (9no) to guide them to a six wicket win.
It was for Riordan a good hit-out as he prepares for the over-50s State Championships, which get underway in Orange on Sunday.
The Kookaburras allrounder will link up again with Narrabri after playing for them in Armidale last year.
