GUNNEDAH MEMORIAL POOL OPENING
As the largest single council-funded capital works project undertaken in Gunnedah Shire nears completion, residents are invited to make a splash as the facility opens to the public. Entry will be free on Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16. Mayor Jamie Chaffey will open the facility at 11am, with a number of swimming events to follow. The 50-metre outdoor pool will then be open to the public for swimming from about 12pm.

MARKET DAY
Sunburnt Treasures is hosting a market day from 9am. There will be stallholders with lots of treasures set up in front of the shop. All welcome. Come along and find your last-minute Christmas gifts.

AUSTRALIA DAY 2019 AWARD NOMINATIONS
Nominations close Monday, January 7 at 5pm for Gunnedah’s Australia Day awards. The Australia Day Working Group is seeking nominations for people and groups who exhibit good citizenship and community qualities, who have made outstanding contributions and/or had outstanding achievements in their particular areas of interest or endeavours, and who are positive role models in the wider Gunnedah Shire community. In addition to these qualities, each individual award has specific criteria. TOM CURTAIN’S SPEAK UP TOUR
Multiple Golden Guitar winner and horseman extraordinaire Tom Curtain will be performing his Katherine Outback Experience show of real horse training and working dog demonstrations followed by a live music performance at Gunnedah Showground at 6pm. Owner/operator Tom Curtain is also an acclaimed country music artist. Foodand drinks: No BYO. Cash bar and food provided. BYO seating and picnic blankets.
