Teams from Gunnedah, South West Robins, Boggabri and a combined team from Bendemeer and Wee Waa, showed off their skills in front of a big crowd on Saturday afternoon.
Group 4 secretary Peter Blom said it was “fantastic to see so many girls involved”.
“To be honest it was bloody brilliant to see them have so much fun, go full bore and play some great football,” Blom said.
“The enthusiasm was there and the games were all very even with no games being too one sided.”

Originally scheduled for October, this season’s competition was cancelled due to lack of player interest, but was saved after more players got behind it.
“The competition was up in the air there at one point.
“However, everyone really got behind it and aside from Wee Waa and Bendemeer merging for the day, everyone had enough numbers,” Blom said.
“Personally I was pleased to see not only the player numbers involved on the day, but also the massive number of spectators as well.
“I think most clubs really got behind it and that showed with the turn out on Saturday.”
Blom said the competition’s next round on December 1 would allow for more participants.
“I think the teams that took part this weekend will probably have more numbers available for the next round. However, in terms of number of teams, there is scope for more teams but we will just wait and see how many we get,” he said.
