IT has been a memorable year for the Gunnedah Motocross Club (MCC) and members from around the district gathered to celebrate at the club’s presentation night.
The year featured a number of highlights for the club including, junior member Jay Fourace’s victory at the Australian Junior Track Championships in September.
Club president Anthony Dall said 2018 was “a mighty year for the club”.
“We have seen quite a lot of growth and so many positive results this year,” Dall said.
“All year we have seen really big numbers attend our meetings and I think everyone who has got involved has really enjoyed themselves.”

Dall said the club would like to expand in 2019 by hosting more high profile events in Gunnedah.
“I suppose we are pretty lucky with the facilities we have here at Balcary Park Raceway,” he said.
“None of the other clubs in the region have really been throwing their hands up to host any major events, which I guess is a benefit for us.
“We hosted some great events in 2018 including the Senior Dirt Track Championships and we will certainly look to go bigger and better next year.”
Among the clubs top performers for the year were Marty McNamara (senior and senior point scorer), Tom Donnelly and Jay Fourace who were both named junior of the year.
“I think all of the guys who were honoured would be pleased with their year,” Dall said.
“As a club we are always supporting one another and we couldn’t do it without our sponsors.
“It’s really important to have their support and we are certainly very grateful.”
