So it would have come as no surprise that the breakaway was awarded The Shell/Walker Trophy for the first grade best and fairest when the club held their presentation night recently.
Brown also picked up the Breeza Trophy for the best forward and shared The Sportsman Award for the Best Sportsman in the club with brother Dan.
Barnstorming number eight Sanimo Navatu was named players player for the second year in a row and was also the runner-up to Brown in the best and fairest, while talisman Jamie Mitchell was again adjudged the best back.
Matt Roseby likewise received The Tony Coffey Trophy for the Most Consistent Trainer for the second year running.
The second rower had a busy night also winning the Iron Man Award for the most minutes in first grade and sharing The Bob McCrone Memorial Trophy for the Best Clubman with Kirsty McArthur.
This season saw the club double it’s number of teams adding under-19s and women’s.
The latter had a sensational year making it all the way to the grand final.
Fiona Laurie and Peter Lawrence couldn’t be split for the women’s best and fairest, and, similarly, Torika Nadruku and Bec Smythe for the players player.
Laurie was also the highest point scorer for the women and adjudged the best attacker.
Sarah Stewart was the best defender.
Luke Whitehurst scooped the under-19s major awards winning both the players’ player and the Rugby Club Trophy for the best and fairest.
Will Maunder picked up The Sawmilling Trophy for second grade best and fairest while George Lennon was the players’ player.
