Gunnedah Netball Association ended the season with a bang with their grand finals on Saturday.
Some very entertaining netball was on display starting with a hotly contested match between Pulse and Magic in the 12 and under division.
The lead changed multiple times in a very tight scoreline with Pulse coming out on top to claim the premiership 22-21. Player of the grand final was Regan Simpson.
Next match was between Dream Team and 12s Rep in the 16 and under division two.
This was a match between a young representative team and a mixed team of young players and some older rep players. Although 12s Rep put up a good fight, the more experienced Dream Team were too strong on the day to win 49-31.
In the 16 and under division one grand final, spectators were entertained by The A Team and Vantage Strikers. Once again, this match pitted a young representative team against a mixed team of younger players and older rep players.
This was another hotly contested match with the lead changing three times before the eventual winners Vantage Strikers took out the premiership 34-28.
Open's division two was up next with Andrew Muddle Plumbing taking on CrossFit Gunnedah.
Although the final score was 43-22 to Andrew Muddle Plumping, this was another entertaining match.
These two teams played each other in the semi-finals and had to go into extra time to determine a winner but on this day the more experienced team of Andrew Muddle Plumbing proved to strong taking out the premiership.
The game of the day was between Cruisers and Stormers in the Open's division one. This long awaited contest did not disappoint.
The game was played at a frenetic pace with some very exciting and high level performances on display.
At the end of the first quarter, there was only one goal between them.
Stormers started strong in the second quarter extending their lead by nine. In the third, Cruisers fought back to within five goals at one time but could not contain the Stormers who eventually took the premiership 53-44.
GNA thanked all the players, umpires and officials for helping everyone have an amazing day of netball played in the spirit of good sportsmanship.
The presentation night will be held on Saturday, September 15. Doors open 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
