The main title might have gone to a visitor but the Australian Senior Dirt Track Titles were still a big success for the Gunnedah Motorcycle Club.
“It all went very well.
“Good weather, good crowd,” publicity officer Troy Whittaker said.
He said there was some “excellent” racing over the two days, probably some of the best he’s seen.
Central Coast’s Michael Kirkness cleaned up the major spoils winning the pro-open, pro 450s and unlimited.
Gunnedah native Marty McNamara, who is based in Singleton but rides for the Gunnedah club, finished second behind Kirkness in the pro open.
Fletcher Tydd was the best-performed of the local contingent in the pro 450s, progressing straight through to the main final as one of the top 10 on points after the three rounds on Saturday.
Daryl Woodhead and Sean Fuller also had a good weekend in the 1100cc sidecars finishing third for the Greg Banks Memorial.
