St Mary’s sharp shooter Eliza Perkins has ticked another goal off her list.
Perkins will play for the open Combined Catholic Colleges side at the NSW All Schools Netball Challenge in Sydney on Monday.
The Year 12 student was delighted to make the side after missing out on selection the past three years.
“I think I was a bit shocked,” Perkins said of learning of her success.
That quickly turned to excitement.
Over 100 girls attended the trials, from which they selected only 10.
Perkins has been picked as a goal attack but can also slot into goal shooter. They will play the Combined High Schools and Combined Independent Schools sides. Both will be tough, Perkins said, knowing a few of the girls from other squads.
She will train with the side down in Sydney on Sunday. She also has a training session the state Talent Development Squad (TDS) on Sunday, the first of seven over the coming weekends.
Perkins also has a Tamworth grand final to prepare for after her St Eds Young side won their Division 1 major semi-final on Saturday.
