Boggabri Public School’s P&C has raised more than $1000 for Buy A Bale with funds still coming in.
The school held a disco on August 31 with Sacred Heart School and Fairfax Public School coming along for a bit of fun.
P&C member Helen Fielding said they did the Heel and Toe Polka, a boy versus girl dance-off and had prizes for best dressed boy, best dressed girl and best dressed parent.
“It was a great success and the children and parents had a fantastic time,” Ms Fielding said.
“We raised $320 from the entry fee which we are donating straight to Buy A Bale and have asked local businesses if they are able to either make a donation or match what we made.
“The response from the locals has truly amazed us all. We haven't got a final figure yet but everyday I hear back from someone saying they would like to donate.
“Some businesses have even donated prizes for our raffle, which we will be drawing at the Boggabri Spring Fair and Food Fesitval on September 22.
