A woman has been airlifted to Tamworth hospital in a serious condition after a car accident near Edgeroi on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Newell Highway at 3.45pm after a car crashed into the back of a stationary car.
An 84-year-old woman was airlifted to Tamworth hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a serious condition.
Paramedics said she briefly lost consciousness and had a suspected compound fracture in her leg.
Three other people including a 29-year-old woman, a one-year old girl and a three-year-old boy escaped serious injury.

The woman and the girl were taken by ambulance to Narrabri hospital in a stable condition.
Crash investigators from Tamworth were called to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
“The highway was closed for a short time, but police were able to get traffic flowing again soon after,” a police spokesman said.
“This is a timely reminder for everyone to take care on the roads.”
