Gunnedah Shire Band is frothing its way to funds.
AgQuip is the band’s biggest fundraiser in the year, with 25 volunteers helping man the coffee machine and food and drinks stall over the three days.
Co-coordinator Lisa Roach said the stall was “ridiculously busy” in the morning.
“From 7.30am to lunch, we didn’t stop,” she said.
“I didn’t expect to be so busy… I thought it would be a bit slower because of the drought.”
Mrs Roach said the band had been “planning and list-making and trouble-shooting” for months, with former band member Tracey Geddes running a barista workshop ahead of AgQuip.
Band parent and AgQuip volunteer Mike Tighe said the fundraising helps get the players to the competitions including the 2018 NSW Brass and Concert Band Championships this weekend. The band will compete in Open B grade in Penrith.
The band is on site P25.
