There promises to be plenty of thrills and spills when the Gunnedah Show Society hosts its annual Fuchs AgQuip bullride on Wednesday night.
Last year, only six of the contestants in the open event rode the eight seconds to progress through to the short round, and from that there were only three successful rides.
This years event has drawn some of the best bullriders in the business including 2017 Australian Bushmen's Campdraft and Rodeo Association champion Cliff Richardson
The Gresford cowboy currently sits second on the Professional Bullriders of Australia standings and is ranked 38th in the world.
Five times Australian champion Jason O’Hearn, and 2016 PBR Australia champion Cody Heffernan, who occupies fourth spot presently on the standings, will also be among the 17 vying for the $6,000 in prizemoney.
They will each have to ride two bulls, ensuring spectators get their fill.
The open event will be supported by a novice bullride, which is being sponsored by Daracon and will see 10 cowboys battle it out for the $500 purse.
Gates open at 5pm with the action getting underway at 6.30pm in the Soft Fall Arena at the Gunnedah Showground.
Entry is $15 for adults, $10 for children/aged pensioners and $40 for a family.
