The foundation chose the RSPCA as the recipient of its annual donation, with a $1000 cheque handed over on Friday.
Gunnedah RSPCA volunteer Linda Taylor said the funds would go towards food and vet bills for the animals they take into care.
“It’s very much appreciated,” she said.
“RSPCA raises all its own funds and all funds raised stay in the town.”
The small but dedicated branch is always looking for more volunteers. To join the branch, phone 0419 474 689. The RSPCA also currently has a number of puppies looking for homes. To view the animals in care, visit www.adoptapet.com.au and choose Gunnedah.
The history of Forsyths Foundation
The foundation was formed in 2015 to enable Forsyths staff to donate money from their salary, with the funds then matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis by Forsyths.
Staff in Gunnedah, Armidale, Coonabarabran, Inverell and Tamworth nominate the local charity they would like to donate to each year and the foundation’s committee makes the final decision. The committee also chooses a charity for its annual firm donation, with Brighter Access, Inverell this year’s recipient.
