Numbers showed an increase of 1000 head. There were large supplies of light weight 1 and 2 score young cattle and another sell-off of cows. The quality of the offering was fairly mixed with lines of well-bred, good quality young cattle showing the effects of limited feed and water supplies.

Condition was at a premium with very few well-finished young cattle, grown steers and heifers available. There were some well-finished cows penned. The majority of the young cattle showing a higher level of finish had been supplementary fed. There was reduced feedlot and processor competition, however restockers were active on both cows and young cattle.
Demand for young cattle was weaker, with this particularly noticeable on the plainest condition light weights and any other not deemed suitable to feed a grain ration. Those cattle saw cheaper trends of 20c to 40c/kg, and more in places, where breed and quality variations were a factor. Plain condition lightweight heifers in particular, struggled with little enthusiasm shown. The better quality yearlings suitable to feed also sold to cheaper trends, however, price falls were not as great for the most part. The reduced competition a factor. The range in prices between the plain quality and condition light weights and the good quality young cattle widened considerably.
There were no well-finished grown steers to quote, while the limited numbers of well-finished grown heifers sold on a firm to cheaper market trend. The plainest of the cows sold to a dearer trend with increased restocker participation. Medium weight 2 score cows sold to a cheaper trend, up to 10c/kg.
