The school has plans under way for the Invictus Dinner Dance with popular local band Streamline, to be held at Gunnedah Rugby Club on Friday, August 31.
The Invictus Games will see more than 500 competitors from 18 nations converge on Sydney to compete in 11 adaptive sports from October 20-27.
The Latin word for “unconquered”, Invictus is an international event for wounded, injured and ill ex-servicemen and women.
The games celebrate the healing power of sport “to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country”.
Patron of the Invictus Games Prince Harry said the games have shone a spotlight on the unconquerable character of servicemen and women.
GS Kidd School has been allocated a number of seats to attend the games and the lucky students are looking forward to the experience and perhaps seeing Prince Harry.
Tickets costing $55 per person, include dinner and entertainment. A full bar will be in operation.
Tickets are available from GS Kidd School, in Lincoln Street, with individual or table bookings.
