THE cancellation of this year’s New England North West Wedding Expo won’t stop Tamworth small business owners.
They’ve organised one of their own, bringing together local businesses for the benefit of brides and grooms.
A Day for Two co-organiser Susie Slack-Smith said a lot of wedding vendors count on the expo to book weddings in advance.
“For small businesses it’s important to have that source of income,” she said.
“But, the brides and grooms of our region need to see what’s on offer under one roof as opposed to spending weeks approaching different vendors individually – it was a no brainer.”

In just 24 hours the new expo, A Day for Two, had 27 emails looking for registration.
Professional makeup artists, wedding planners, photographers, videographers and caterers are just some of the smorgasbord of vendors making offerings at the event.
And, Ms Slack-Smith said one of the biggest differences is the all-local businesses attending.
“We’re saying community over competition where vendors are concerned, previously there’s been a lot of non-wedding related exhibitors, or exhibitors coming from so far out of our region,” she said.
“We’re trying to really rally wedding vendors, put competition aside and be under one roof for the convenience of brides and grooms.”
The event is at Tangaratta Vineyards on August 11, for more information visit adayfortwo.com.au
