The popular annual event is a chance for grandparents and “grand-friends” to come along during the school day and see their grandchildren.
This year, a highlight was the concert, which saw every year group get up on stage in the hall to perform an item. There was dancing, singing, mime, sign language, acting and poetry.
A number of humourous items about grandparents were also performed. The students in 4P and 4R dressed up as for the poem Oh, I’m glad you’re home, Mrs Brown! by Annette Kosseris, with a number of the girls mimicking grandmas hard of hearing. The performance drew many laughs.
Principal Peter Baum said the students are excited by Grandparents Day and enjoy the opportunity to connect with their grandparents and “grand-friends”.
“Grandparents really do make a difference in the lives of their grandkids,” he said on Friday.
A special moment also took place during the concert, with Mr Silver receiving his framed teacher’s certificate from the principal.
